Scrapyard in Switzerland
You might have heared about it, this famous scrapyard in a little village called Kaufdorf, has to be closed. Unfortunaltely! An artist used it month ago for an exebition that got worldwide attention. Some cars in Messerli's scrapyard have been there since the 1930ies, and are partly grown into the grounds. A unique scenario developed, trees and shrubbs growing through cars and trucks, somehow nature was and is on the way, to take over. A lot of animals and creatures called the yard their home, and lots of people appealed for the yard to be left alone, as a time whitness of our technological aera.
As usual they lost, and the yard has to be cleared till end of December. There was only one option: an auction.
This auction took place end of August, and lots of cars, including very rare items and famous names and models, part of them where kept under cover and in sheds, where sold for a lot of money. If you got to: www.autofriedhof.ch ,
you can have a look at the picture gallery. There was also one Consul Corsair, one of my friends passed me these pictures on, they where taken after the auction, when the car was lifted from the field. Unfortunately I have no idea, if it was sold, and for how much!

Stolen
Hi, hope one of you are the right person to contact in the club (sorry not a current paid up member - though have been in the past) if not then hope you would be so kind as to forward this e-mail to someone who may be able to help put out the word.

Sometime between July and August 22nd my Corsair 2000E reg number XGW 200G was stolen from a lock up garage in Wickford, Essex. The car was a restoration project put on the back burner due to other commitments. Also taken were the remains of a MK1 Capri parts car (complete shell with some panels removed)

In all honesty, it is most probable that these were taken to weigh in for scrap due to the high market price that steel is commanding, although banger racers may also be suspected.

The car held great sentimental value having been in the family since 1981 and belonging to a friend before that.

The Corsair was Saluki Bronze with the off side in grey primer, front bumper, trim, lights and grill removed and rear bumper removed. Capri was brown missing front o/s wing, boot, o/s door, near side front and rear smashed due to accident damage.

If this jogs any ones memory from being spotted on the back of a truck or in a yard please let me know on 07939 101921.

Many thanks, David.

The Club at the "Classic Expo" in Salzburg, Austria
This is Gerhard Seyerl's Consul Corsair "S" at our combined FCCO-Ford classic Club Austria-clubstand.

Actually, the "S" version was only for the export market. It's the deluxe version, with GT running gear. Most of them where sold in countries with hills and mountains, like Austria and Sweden.

This is the Seyerl family "hard at work", they deserve it, after all the polishing they did.
